Launch week is finally here — and alongside the excitement of publishing a book, there’s the practical side too: making sure everything looks and feels consistent across my website, blog and social media.
That’s why I teamed up with SK Marketing in Wigton for a personal brand photoshoot as part of the build-up to launch.
A book is personal. And retirement is personal too.
So rather than relying on old profile photos and quick phone snapshots, I wanted a set of images that matched the tone of the book — down to earth, relatable, and focused on real life.
Good photos help people feel they know who they’re buying from, and they give me the right visuals to share the themes that matter most:
the emotions around retirement
the lifestyle side (what you’re retiring to)
and how money decisions support the life you actually want
I’ll be honest — few people love having their photo taken. But SK Marketing made it genuinely easy and relaxed.
We captured a mix of:
professional headshots
natural “working” shots for blog posts
images that work well for social content during launch week
I’m a big believer in supporting local when you can — and working with a local business is straightforward and practical. Quick communication, no fuss, and they understand the community.
So a big thank you to Sam at SK Marketing (Wigton) for helping me get everything ready for launch.
If you (or someone you know) is thinking about retirement — or recently retired and wondering “what now?” — the book is now available on Amazon:
Launch-day offer (24 hours): Kindle 99p and Paperback £5.70.
If you do grab a copy, I’d really appreciate you sharing it with friends, family, neighbours or work colleagues — it genuinely helps an author more than people realise.
